Doesn't the Bible say we're saved by grace through faith, not by works?

Absolutely.

So what does Paul mean when he tells Christians:

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”?

At the center of Philippians is a beautiful truth about Christ:

👑 Jesus is Lord.
⬇️ He humbled Himself and became a servant.
✝️ He was obedient even to death on a cross.
🌅 He rose again and reigns forever.

Christianity isn't primarily a collection of facts, rules, or theological information. It is a relationship with the risen Jesus Christ.    Pasted text

So do we work for our salvation?

No. Jesus already accomplished that.

But because we have been saved, there is plenty of work to do.

❤️ Christ forgave us—so we forgive others.
🤲 Christ gave to us—so we give to others.
🙏 Christ suffered for us—so we willingly serve and sacrifice for others.

We don't do these things to become God's children.

We do them because, through Jesus, that's already who we are.
