More Than a Sunday Morning
Christ Lutheran Church & School is a community of believers in Brea, California, where people of all ages can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and live out their calling in Christ.
Through worship, Christian education, and opportunities to serve, our church and school work together to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with families and our community.

From six families with a vision to a church and school serving generations in Brea.
Our Beginning
In the fall of 1960, six families began forming a mission congregation in the Brea and Fullerton area.
Our First Worship Service
On March 6, 1961, Christ Lutheran Church held its first worship service at the Wilson School of Dance, at Catalpa Avenue and Oleander Street in Brea.
A Permanent Home
After a three-year search, approximately five acres became available at Imperial Highway and Arovista Avenue. On May 3, more than 300 members gathered to break ground, pushing a plow through a field of weeds. Trailers were installed May 28 for worship while the church was built.
Our Preschool Opens
Christ Lutheran Church expanded its ministry by opening a preschool to serve young families in the community.
Our Elementary School Opens
The ministry continued to grow with the addition of an elementary school, providing opportunities to partner with families in Christian education.
Growing Together in Christ
Christ Lutheran Church & School continues serving Brea and surrounding communities through worship, education, and opportunities for all ages.

Throughout our history, Christ Lutheran Church & School has remained committed to sharing the Gospel and supporting individuals and families in their walk of faith.
What We Believe
Our faith is rooted in Scripture and centered on the saving work of Jesus Christ.
God's Word
The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God and the foundation for all we believe and teach.
The Triune God
There is one true God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, who lived, died, and rose again for the forgiveness of sins.
Saved by Grace
We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not by our works.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit creates and sustains faith through God's Word and Sacraments.
Baptism & Communion
Baptism and the Lord's Supper are gifts of God's grace, through which He strengthens our faith.
The Church
The church is the community of believers, called to live out our faith in worship, service, and daily life.
Living Our Faith
Our faith is not limited to Sunday mornings. We are called to serve and love others in our daily lives.
Christ Lutheran Church is part of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).
