More than 500 years ago, something extraordinary happened.
A man read his Bible.
And it changed his mind.
Then it changed his heart.
And eventually, it changed the world.
That man was Martin Luther.
In Stand Up, Pastor Eric Clausen celebrates Reformation Sunday by exploring the biblical truths that transformed Luther's life and continue to shape the Church today.
For years, Luther believed he needed to work hard enough to earn God's love. But no matter how much he did, he could never escape his own sin.
Then he encountered the incredible promise of Romans 3:
We are justified freely by God's grace through Jesus Christ.
Luther discovered that salvation wasn't something he needed to earn.
Jesus had already earned it for him.
That discovery helped shape three foundational truths of the Reformation:
Grace Alone (Sola Gratia)
Salvation is God's free gift, given because of His love, not because of our accomplishments.
Faith Alone (Sola Fide)
We receive God's gift through faith—trusting in Jesus and what He has done for us.
Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura)
God's Word is our highest authority, guiding what we believe and how we live.
But Pastor Eric asks an important question:
What are we doing with these truths today?
Luther didn't simply discover the Gospel. He courageously stood up for it, even when facing opposition from the very people around him.
Are we willing to do the same?
📖 Will we let Scripture change our minds?
🙏 Will we trust God's promises even when life is uncertain?
✝️ Will we stand firmly on His Word, regardless of the consequences?
The Reformation isn't just something we remember.
It's a calling to continue standing on the truth of Jesus Christ.
