In this installment of the Miracles series, we hear the story of Simon the Leper, a man cut off from his family, his community, and even the worship life of God’s people. Through a dramatic retelling, we are reminded of the crushing weight of uncleanness and isolation. Yet when Simon falls before Jesus and pleads, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean,” Jesus does the unthinkable: He reaches out and touches him.

That touch changes everything.

Instead of Jesus becoming unclean, Simon is made clean. In that moment, we see not only a miracle of healing, but a glimpse of the Gospel itself. Jesus does not recoil from the broken, the sinful, or the outcast. He comes near. He touches. He restores. And as the sermon unfolds, that same question is placed before us: Jesus is willing to make us clean — are we willing to come before Him and ask?
