In Week 2 of the Red Letter Challenge, Pastor Eric Clausen walks us through the freedom of forgiveness ✝️

Using the image of a “pristine couch” with a messy cushion underneath, we’re reminded how easy it is to present a polished image while hiding the reality of our sin. But Scripture is clear — no one is righteous. We all stand in need of grace.

Through the story of the woman caught in adultery (John 8), we see the heart of Jesus. The only One who truly had the right to condemn instead says, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

Forgiveness is not theoretical. It is personal. It is specific. And it brings freedom.

Because we are forgiven people, we are called to live as forgiving people — releasing grudges, letting go of condemnation, and extending the same mercy we have received in Christ.
